Reglement DOXS RUHR-Festivaleinreichungen
Teilnahmebedingungen
1.1
Das DOXS RUHR-Festival richtet sich an Kinder ab 4 Jahren und Jugendliche ab 12 Jahren. Für das Programm können aktuelle deutschsprachige oder englisch untertitelte dokumentarische Film- und Fernsehproduktionen eingereicht werden. Die Länge der Beiträge ist prinzipiell nicht begrenzt. Die Nominierungen für den ECFA DOC Award werden vom Festivalteam mit Abschluss der Sichtungen ausgewählt, die Preisentscheidung trifft eine unabhängige Fachjury.

Das Festival bietet Programme für
a. Kitas (4-6 Jahre)
b. Grundschulen (6-10 Jahre)
c. weiterführende Schulen (10-18 Jahre)
d. junge Erwachsene
e. und Familien.
Alle Vorführungen sind für das junge Publikum kostenfrei.
1.3
Es werden Produktionen in das Festivalprogramm aufgenommen, die dokumentarisches Arbeiten ästhetisch anspruchsvoll interpretieren. Klassische Beobachtungen sind ebenso willkommen wie experimentelle Mischformen und Grenzgänger. Uns interessieren künstlerische Perspektiven auf die heterogenen Lebenswelten von Kindern und Jugendlichen.

Die Entscheidung zur Aufnahme ins Programm trifft das Festivalteam mit der Unterstützung eines Programmbeirats, bestehend aus Filmemacher*innen, Vertreter*innen der Branche und medienpädagogisch qualifizierten Lehrer*innen. Die außerschulische Programmsektion kino.for you wird von einem Kurator*innen-Netzwerk aus dem Ruhrgebiet, das sich aus Schüler*innen und Studierenden zusammensetzt, ausgewählt. Dieses entscheidet auch über Vergabe des kino.for you-Preises. Gewürdigt werden unkonventionelle Ästhetiken und die inhaltliche Auseinandersetzung mit Diversität und Repräsentation.

Sichtungskopien zur Programmauswahl können als Online Screener eingereicht werden. Termine und Einreichungsmodalitäten sind auf der Website (FAQs) veröffentlicht. Zur festivalinternen Vorbereitung und Programmauswahl (z.B. für Moderationen und/oder Texte), sowie für Kooperationsveranstaltungen behält sich das Festival das Recht vor, Sichtungskopien für interne Zwecke zu archivieren und weiterzugeben, sofern dem nicht bei der Einreichung widersprochen wird. Die für das Festival ausgewählten Beiträge werden als Projektion in Festivalkinos im Ruhrgebiet gezeigt. Online-Vorführungen werden individuell vereinbart. Alle Vorstellungen des Festivalprogramms werden von einem moderierten Publikumsgespräch begleitet.
1.6.
Sichtungslinks können formlos mit Angabe des Filmtitels, der Regie, Länge, Produktionsland und Produktionsjahr per Email an: eingereicht werden.
1.7.
Die Auswahl für das Festival wird im August 2024 getroffen. Filme, die zum Festival eingeladen werden, müssen dies per Teilnahmeformular bestätigen. Über Einladungen von Filmgästen, Kostenübernahmen und Vorführgebühren werden im Vorfeld individuelle Absprachen getroffen.
Schlussbestimmungen
1.8.
Mit der Festivalteilnahme befreit der Einsender den Veranstalter von allen eventuellen Rechtsansprüchen Dritter, die sich durch die Aufführung eines Films ergeben können.
1.9.
Alle nicht unter den vorangehenden Punkten enthaltenen Vorgaben werden von der Festivalleitung bestimmt. Gerichtsstand ist Duisburg.
1.10.
Die Einreichung für DOXS RUHR bedeutet die rechtskräftige Zustimmung zu den vorangehenden Regelungen.
Regulations DOXS RUHR
Terms of Participation
1.1
The DOXS RUHR – Festival addresses to children and adolescents aged from 4-20 years. The programme is open to contemporary documentary film and TV productions in German language or with English subtitles. There is no restriction in length. The nominees for the ECFA DOC Award are chosen by the festival team in the course of the selection process. An independent expert jury is invited to select the winning film.

The festival offers screenings for the following audiences:
a) children attending kindergarten (4-6 years)
b) children attending elementary school (6-10 years)
c) adolescent attending secondary school (10-18 years)
d) young adults
e) families
1.3
Productions will be included in the festival programme that
a) interpret the genre „documentary“ in an aesthetic way. Classic observations are welcome as well as experimental hybrids and crossover works.
b) aim at the heterogeneous living environment of young audiences

A programme advisory committee consisting of the festival team, filmmakers, professionals and teachers qualified in media education, will decide upon the participation in the festival. The programme section kino.for you is selected by a network or regional young curators (scholars and students). This network also decides on the awarding of the kino.for you prize. The award recognises unconventional aesthetics and the content-related examination of diversity and representation.

Formats of preview copies for the programme selection are Blue-ray or online screener. The festival may archive the files or hand the screeners to a third party for organizational or programming reasons. By submitting the film the applicant permits the festival to do so. All selected festival contributions will be projected in festival cinemas of DOXS RUHR and/or will be part of the online programme. Each screening is accompanied by a moderated Q&A. The entry to all screenings is free for accredited festival guests and pupils.

Links to online screeners can be sent by email (), please specify the information on the filmtitle, the director, country and year of production, the length of the submitted film in the same email.

The selection for the festival will be made in august 2024.
In the case of an invitation costs of transport and screening fees will be negotiated beforehand. The invitation has to be confirmed by send us the filled in participation form.
Final terms

With the participation in the festival the person submitting the film/video frees the organizers from any potential legal right claimed by a third party that may result from the screening of the selected films.
1.9
All items not included in the above-mentioned terms are defined by the festival direction. Place of jurisdiction is Duisburg.
1.10
The submission for DOXS RUHR implies the legally binding agreement to the enclosed regulations in their current valid form.
